Facility Positions

TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal
LOCATION: West River Community Center
JOB DESCRIPTION: Individuals will be responsible for the general supervision and cleanliness of the facility. Other job tasks include the responsibility for the operation of the fitness desks, constantly moving throughout the building, having a good understanding of equipment use, communicating with supervisors and patrons, checking the gyms, locker rooms, bathrooms, etc., assisting climbing wall attendants, and developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with staff and patrons. Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

Type: Part-Time
Location: West River Community Center
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for organizing and instructing senior specific aerobic activities, classes, and participants. Must obtain SilverSneakers® certification within 3 months of employment. The instructors offer support and exercise modifications in a welcoming environment.  Year-round position.

TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal
LOCATION: Heart River Golf Course
JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Individual will be responsible for the general maintenance of the driving range. Other responsibilities include retrieving range balls, washing all retrieved range balls daily, general maintenance of the range ball picker and keeping it in good running condition, and helping the pro shop attendant take care of the rental carts. Season runs: May – September; Monday – Sunday.

TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal
LOCATION: Heart River Golf Course
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Individual will be responsible for the overall supervision of the golf course. Other responsibilities include charging for green fees, cart rentals, driving range and general cleanliness of the pro shop, bag storage, and bathrooms between both buildings. Individuals must have knowledge of the fundamentals, rules, and skills of golf as well as having a flexible schedule. Season runs May – September; Monday – Sunday.

Location: West River Community Center
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for providing a safe environment at our pool facilities. Lifeguards will provide a positive image of the facility and its services by attentive, conscientious, and courteous behavior on the job. Other duties include watching swimmers through safe scanning practices, maintaining order in the pool areas, test and treat water accordingly, complete accident and rescue reports as necessary, perform CPR and first aid as needed as well as being trained to enforce safe operations of slides, ladders, and general pool use guidelines. Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal
LOCATION: West River Community Center
AGE REQUIREMENT: 16+
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Individuals will be responsible for providing a safe environment for the pool patrons and promoting a positive image of the facility by being attentive, conscientious, and courteous on the job. Job duties include the enforcement of pool and facility rules, assisting in maintaining order in the pool and locker rooms, keeping the aquatics area clean, assisting in emergency action plans, and developing positive working relationships with other staff members. Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

TYPE: Part-Time
LOCATION: West River Community Center
JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Individuals will be responsible for customer service and will be the first impression on customers. Other job duties include set-up of memberships, reservations, daily passes, completing member agreements, handling customer concerns, balancing the register at the beginning and end of every shift, setting up and tearing down for programs and special events, and light cleaning on a daily basis. Applicant must have an outgoing and friendly personality and be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment.  Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

Buildings/Grounds Positions

Type: Full-Time
Location: West River Community Center
Job Description:
Dickinson Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for the position of full time Facility Maintenance Specialist. Position will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the West River Community Center, Outdoor Pool, West River Ice Center and associated areas.  This individual must possess facility mechanical and maintenance skills and be able to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees, agencies and the public.  Person must be willing to work weekend and/or holiday hours.

Education/Experience:  Associates Degree and two years of experience in facility maintenance including basic knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing; or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and education that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Salary:  Range based on education and experience.

Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for the general maintenance of Heart River Golf Course. Other duties include servicing and maintaining the equipment, surveying grounds, reporting damages, sharpening mower blades, and keeping mowing equipment clean and in safe operating conditions. Season runs: May – September.
