Pearson Orchard

668 12th St W, Dickinson, ND

The goal of this project was to bring the first community orchard to the City of Dickinson to promote fruit production in North Dakota by educating the community on the wide variety of fruits and berries that are hardy enough to survive the winters in SW North Dakota. The orchard utilizes a previously undeveloped park property in the Nuhaven Subdivision. Our first planting in May 2025 consists of 46 trees with many varieties of apple, cherry, pear, and plum trees provided by a generous donation from TJ Herauf (Coca-Cola of Dickinson). Additional supplies were provided by a North Dakota Forest Service Community Family Forest Grant. Berry rows will be added in the spring of 2026. When the fruit is ready for harvest in late summer, access to the orchard will be available by appointment. The Park District will be looking for volunteers to help with pruning, watering, and harvesting in the coming years.
