POP UP PLAY is a drop-in supervised outdoor program for youth offered at Dickinson public park locations. In June and July we will “Pop Up” at a park near you! Come find us this summer and enjoy crafts, games and activities for children 7-12. Children can participate in the supervised program during the duration of the time our staff are on site. Pop Up Play do not monitor with whom, how, or when children come and go from the playground. PURPOSE: To improve access to parks through social equity and equality for ALL through creative programming and community outreach! Join our 2 certified RRCA (Road Runners Club of America) coaches on your quest to prepare for the Fargo ½ marathon. We will coach you through this training program that will include a running program with cross training to help get ready to run Fargo, Strong! REQUIREMENTS:
- A current minimum of 6 miles total within a week is strongly encouraged for this distance.
- Attending and running the Fargo Marathon on September 25, 2021 is not required to participate in this challenge group.
- Registration deadline is May 31.
Dickinson Parks and Recreation offers young children the opportunity to interact with other children and explore hands on crafts. Dickinson Parks and Recreation offers a comprehensive, award winning safety education program sponsored in part by the Kiwanis Club. Children will practice "real life" safety situations in a miniature "city". Children will have fun learning about safety in the following areas: Pedestrian and bicycle safety, railroad crossings, animal safety, electrical safety, school bus safety, stranger danger, seat belts, pool safety, farm safety as well as calling 911 and what to do in an emergency situation. Special guests from the community will make appearances to demonstrate the safety topics addressed each day. T-Ball is an introductory program to the game of baseball at its most basic level. Players will be introduced to the basic skills of throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases. Participants will hit off the batting tee for entire program. REGISTER HERE REQUIREMENTS: Must be 5-6 years as of May 1, 2021. Baseball glove required. Registration deadline is June 16.
In this introductory tennis program, participants will experience the basic fundamental skills associated with the game of tennis in a fun, non-competitive learning environment.
