Dickinson, a four-season city with a wide variety of parks and trails throughout its city limits.  Find spots with outside grills, shelters, playgrounds, restrooms and much more.  No matter what the season, there is always something to do in our parks and trails.

SHELTER RESERVATIONS
Groups planning picnics may reserve Lions Park, Eagles Park, Jaycee Park, Turtle Park, Rocky Butte Park, Gress Softball Complex, or the old Archery Range by calling Dickinson Parks and Recreation at 701-456-2074.  Shelter reservations may not be made more than 365 days in advance.  Please click on the RESERVABLE amenity to view each park.

PARK RULES

  • All parks close at 10:00 pm.
  • Parks are tobacco-free zones.
  • Glass containers are prohibited.
  • Overnight camping and parking are prohibited.
  • Vehicles are restricted to established roads and parking lots.
  • Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after.
  • All trash must be disposed of in designated garbage containers.
  • It is illegal to carry a weapon into any park area.
  • Comply with all North Dakota laws and City of Dickinson ordinances.

COLLEGE PARK

College Park is a fun park located by the Biesiot Activities Center. With two spacious picnic shelters and a great playground, this is the perfect park to bring the family before the game!

DOWNTOWN PARK

This park is located in the heart of downtown Dickinson.

EAGLES PARK

Eagles Park is a large park consisting of up to ten acres of land on the Heart River. It features two tennis courts, basketball courts, two large reservable shelters and much more. Don’t forget to walk or run on the Eagles Park Trail. This scenic trail beginning at Eagles Park along the Heart River takes you to the Gress Softball Complex (5th St & 8th Ave SW).

EASTSIDE COMPLEX | 245 9th Ave E

Eastside Complex is a neighborhood park/complex located in east Dickinson.  The park/complex offers an outdoor skating rink for those cold winter months.

FISHER PARK | 825 19th St E

Fisher Park features a beautiful green space and a larger playground. There is also a sand volleyball net during the summer.

GRESS PARK | 632 2nd Ave SE

Gress Park is nestled in the Gress Softball Complex and along side Dickinson Dog Park. This park has a lot to offer with a paved riverside trail starting at Gress and ending in Eagles Park. This park gets a lot of activity during the summer months with softball games and tournaments.

HEWSON PARK | 1605 1st Ave E

Hewson Park (formerly All Seasons Park) was renamed in 2019.  This is a neighborhood park located in east Dickinson.

HILLSIDE PARK | 1125 10th St E

Hillside Park is a small pocket park located next to Hillside Baptist Church in east Dickinson.

HOSPITAL PARK | 175 9 St W

Hospital Park is a small neighborhood park located close to downtown Dickinson.  This park is great for families with small children.

JAYCEE PARK

Jaycee Park is a scenic park located in south Dickinson along the Heart River.  It provides a beautiful tree-lined green space with playground and shelters.  This park also features a challenging disc golf course.

KOSTELECKY PARK | 1949 Prairie Ave

Kostelecky Park is a neighborhood park in north Dickinson.  Great park for the kids with playground, basketball court, and green space.

LEISURE PARK | 2015 Empire Rd

Leisure Park is located on the northwest side of the West River Community Center and across from the West River Ice Center. It features a large three-story playground and soccer fields. This park also offers a 1.1-mile loop that goes around the West River Ice Center and the West River Community Center.

KIWANIS PARK | 1084 2nd Ave E

Kiwanis Park (formerly Lincoln Park) was renamed in 2019 and is a nice little neighborhood park with a playground.

LIONS PARK | 3753 114th Ave SW

Lions Park is located at the Patterson Lake Recreation Area and is a great location for group picnics, family reunions, and company gatherings.  The area features a playground, sand volleyball, horseshoes, and a large shelter.

MEMORIAL PARK | 801 5th Ave W

Memorial Park honors the men and women who have served our country. It consists of 12 acres of land and is home to the Bandshell and Stark County Veterans Pavilion.  During the summer months, there is lots of activity at this park with private events and some of DPR events such as the Bandshell Concert Series and Chalk Walk!

OPTIMIST PARK | 731 6th St W

Optimist Park features a large playground, grills, shelters, and restrooms during the summer months. It is a large park located across from Memorial Park and is used for the Play Park program.

PINE TREE PARK | 733 2nd Ave W

Pine Tree Park is a beautiful tree-filled park in the center of Dickinson.  Enjoy this park for some much-needed rest and relaxation in nature!

PLEASANT VALLEY PARK | 875 4th Ave E

Pleasant Valley Park is a neighborhood park with a playground, basketball court, and picnic shelter.

ROCKY BUTTE PARK | 566 Fairway St

Rocky Butte Park is a great park for all kinds of activities. It is located across from Memorial Park and the Bandshell. This park gives you the out of the city feeling and is filled with beautiful trees and rolling hills that make great scenery for your next run or walk. Rocky Butte Park has a scenic .80 mile trail that loops around Rocky Butte Park (Fairway Street). The area also offers an additional wood chip trail around the park for users to enjoy the beautiful wooded scenery and open space that the park has to offer.

Roers park is the perfect neighborhood park with lots of space to have a picnic in the grass.

Simpson Park is a small neighborhood park located in east Dickinson.

SUNCREST PARK | 222 10th Ave E

Suncrest Park is a small neighborhood park.

TURTLE PARK | 2352 Broadway W

Turtle Park has everything you need for a fabulous recreational day outside. With 3 reservable picnic shelters, a great playground and a brand new restroom facility this is the perfect spot for family and friends. This park is also located alongside the Dickinson Dike so don’t forget your fishing poles.

Westend Park is a great park with lots of space. Hidden behind the heavy traffic makes this park perfect for letting your kids run free.
