Dakota Community Bank & Trust Ballpark | Astoria Field

This Facility is home to the Dickinson Baseball Club, Dickinson High School Baseball, and the Badlands Big Sticks of the newly formed Expedition League. Within the ballpark are 2 fields – Astoria Field and Coke Field. Astoria Filed offers a turf infield, a new backstop net system, newly renovated stadium seating, and newly renovated team dugouts. Coke field offers a natural grass infield for team practices and sub-varsity games.

Dickinson Dike

Dickinson Dike is located next to Turtle Park. This Dike is 19 acres in size and approximately 20 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, catfish, largemouth bass, and small bluegill. Dickinson Dike is also the location for the annual Kids Fishing Derby held every summer.

Dickinson Dog Park

Oreo’s Animal Rescue and DPR worked hard to make this facility a reality for our community. It is conveniently located next to Gress Softball Complex. Let your pets run around leash-free and get much-needed interaction with other dogs! In addition to the large fenced-in play area for dogs 30lbs and over, there is a play area for small dogs, as well as water and sanitation stations.

Gress Softball Complex

This men’s and women’s softball complex is situated on 23 acres of land and runs alongside the Heart River. Within the complex, there are 6 softball fields, a concession stand, restrooms, a small playground, nature trails, picnic shelters, and bleachers for seating. The Dickinson Dog Park and Eagles Park are just a brisk walk away.

Heart River Retreat

This rental facility has a great view overlooking the Heart River Golf Course is located next to Turtle Park and the Dickinson Dike.  This is a great venue for hosting numerous gatherings Birthday Parties, Baby or Bridal Showers, Graduation Parties, Family Reunions, Company Gatherings, etc.

Reservation Permit (required)

  • Certificate of Insurance (if needed)

  • Rental Requirements will be discussed at the time of reservation

Dickinson Parks and Recreation requires an alcohol sales fee when your event is open to the general public (selling alcohol). All necessary City of Dickinson permits and licenses must be provided.

 

COST OF RENTAL

  • 3 Hours: $90 (3-hour minimum)
  • Over 3 to 5 Hours: $150
  • Over 5 Hours: $180/Day
  • Miscellaneous Fees (if needed):

Alcohol Sales Fee = $50/event
Custodial Fee = $20/man-hour

 

TERMS OF PAYMENT

  • Total payment is required at the time of booking.
  • If the event is canceled, 50% of the fees will be refunded.
  • If Dickinson Parks & Recreation sees the need for onsite supervision or maintenance, all costs will be charged back to the renter.

Mustang Baseball Complex

This facility is home to the Mustang Baseball Club (offering Cal Ripken Baseball) for ages 7-12. The complex features 3 fully lighted fields with natural grass infields, covered dugouts, concession building w/restrooms, picnic shelter, a playground, 2 batting cages, as well as Field of Swings 4 station batting cages w/pitching machines. The complex is surrounded by the Leisure Park Walking Path, West River Community Center, and West River Ice Center.

North Softball Complex

Home to the Dickinson Diamonds and DSU Softball Team the North Complex features 20’ backstops, 200’ foul lines and 225’ to center. Surrounding the fields are enclosed dugouts and batting cages along with six fast pitch bullpen mounds. DPR also uses these fields for the T-ball program.

Patterson Lake Recreational Area

VISITORS BOOTH
Patterson Lake Visitors Booth can provide you with general information, camping and entrance fees along with local tourist information.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday-Thursday 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Friday 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
Memorial Day through Labor Day.

ENTRANCE FEE (Memorial Day through Labor Day)
$3.00 Daily fee per vehicle
$30.00 Season Pass (registered by household)
Purchase your Season Pass Online or at the Visitors Booth.
The fee is being used to maintain this recreation area, which consists of 26 miles of shoreline, 1,438 acres of land and 819 acres of water.
Senior Citizens, age 60 years and older, may get in free with a pass which may be picked up at the Information Booth during normal hours of operation.

    Season:  Memorial Day through Labor Day.
    Modern sites include bathrooms, water, electricity and sewer dump.  Open seasonal as weather allows.
  • Primitive Sites – $18.00/night (entrance fee included)
    Season:  Memorial Day through Labor Day.
    Primitive sites are parking space only.  Open through Labor Day weekend.

  • ONLINE RESERVATIONS 
  • CAMPFIRES – Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings ONLY and only when there is not a mandated fire ban. During a fire ban, all outdoor cooking will be confined to propane grills. Information concerning fire bans will be available at the information booth or by visiting http://www.starkcountynd.gov/fire. Cutting of firewood is prohibited. FIREWORKS are not allowed!

DISC GOLF COURSE
Patterson Lake Disc Golf Course is an 18 hole course that includes a diverse professional course next to Patterson Lake.  The course provides a wide variety from very long and open to short and very tight play.  Click here to view a map of the course layout.

Stark County Veterans Pavilion

The Veterans Pavilion is a new rental facility completed in 2018. It sits adjacent to the Veterans Memorial located in Memorial Park. This is a great venue for hosting numerous events and gatherings such as anniversary parties, baby showers, birthday parties, company gatherings, family reunions, graduation parties, and wedding receptions.

West River Ice Center

West River Ice Center (formerly Dickinson Recreation Center) is a Dickinson Parks & Recreation owned and operated facility located adjacent to the West River Community Center.

 

FACILITY AMENITIES
West River Ice Center (WRIC) consists of two arenas and a large community room available for rentals year-round.  WRIC is also home to the Dickinson Hockey Club.  During the ice season, the facility is used primarily for the Dickinson Hockey Club along with Dickinson Parks & Recreation’s public skate season.  During the off-ice season, this is a great facility to host educational seminars, conventions, trade shows, special events, and more.

 

PUBLIC SKATE
The public skate season runs from mid-September to mid-March each year.

CHARBONNEAU ARENA (Main Arena)
Charbonneau Arena consists of a large arena with a seating capacity of 1,000.  Indoor ice season is held at end of September through the first week in March.

 

CORNERSTONE ARENA (Auxillary Arena)
Cornerstone Arena has a seating capacity of 300.  Indoor ice season runs from the end of July to mid-March.

 

PIZZA RANCH COMMUNITY ROOM
During public skate hours, the community room is available for birthday party rental.  This room is also available for other private rentals (see below).

 

PRIVATE RENTALS
Groups interested in renting the West River Ice Center for private ice time or off-ice season events such as meetings, educational seminars, conventions, shows, etc. can reserve the facility by contacting Dickinson Parks and Recreation at 701-456-2074 during normal business hours.

West River Skate Park

The skate park at Leisure Park was a community-driven project that relocated the facility from Eagles Park. The skating area is easily accessible and has access to the restrooms and vending machines of the West River Community Center. The wide variety of skate features are constructed of concrete and accommodate skaters of all skill levels.

West River Soccer Complex

This complex features six youth soccer fields for a combined acreage of six acres. The fields are located behind the West River Community Center and across the street from the West River Ice Center. It is situated within Leisure Park which contains a two-story outdoor playground and a 1.1-mile walking path.
