PARK MAINTENANCE

Job Description:
Position will be responsible for general maintenance of Park District properties including municipal ballparks, sports fields, city parks, and Patterson Lake property.  Some job details may require weekend work.

GOLF MAINTENANCE

Job Description:
Position will be responsible for the general maintenance of Heart River Golf Course.  Season runs May – September.

Facility Positions:
CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTENDANT

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: West River Community Center
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for customer service and will be the first impression on customers. Other job duties include set-up of memberships, reservations, daily passes, completing member agreements, handling customer concerns, balancing the register at the beginning and end of every shift, setting up and tearing down for programs and special events, and light cleaning on a daily basis. Applicant must have a outgoing and friendly personality and be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment.  Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTENDANT (OUTDOOR POOL)

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: West River Community Center Outdoor Pool
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for customer service and will be the first impression on customers. Job duties include attending to the day to day operations at the outdoor pool, selling of daily passes, balancing the register at the beginning and end of every shift, light cleaning on a daily basis and other duties as assigned. Applicant must have an outgoing and friendly personality and be able to work in a fast-paced, busy environment.  Seasonal position; End of May through August; Monday – Sunday.

LIFEGUARDS

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: West River Community Center
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for providing a safe environment at our pool facilities. Lifeguards will provide a positive image of the facility and its services by attentive, conscientious, and courteous behavior on the job. Other duties include watching swimmers through safe scanning practices, maintaining order in the pool areas, test and treat water accordingly, complete accident and rescue reports as necessary, perform CPR and first aid as needed as well as being trained to enforce safe operations of slides, ladders, and general pool use guidelines. Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

PATTERSON LAKE BOOTH ATTENDANT

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: Patterson Lake Recreation Area
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for the collection of daily, camping, and season pass fees. Individuals must be competent in handling money, competent computer, planning and good customer service skills. The booth is open 10am – 8pm seven days a week including all holidays and weekends Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.

PRO SHOP ATTENDANT (HRGC)

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: Heart River Golf Course
Job Description:
Individual will be responsible for the overall supervision of the golf course. Other responsibilities include charging for green fees, cart rentals, driving range and general cleanliness of the pro shop, bag storage, and bathrooms between both buildings. Individuals must have knowledge of the fundamentals, rules, and skills of golf as well as having a flexible schedule. Season runs May – September; Monday – Sunday.

WATERSLIDE ATTENDANT

TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal
LOCATION: West River Community Center
AGE REQUIREMENT: 16+
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Individuals will be responsible for providing a safe environment for the pool patrons and promoting a positive image of the facility by being attentive, conscientious, and courteous on the job. Job duties include the enforcement of pool and facility rules, assisting in maintaining order in the pool and locker rooms, keeping the aquatics area clean, assisting in emergency action plans, and developing positive working relationships with other staff members. Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

 

Recreation Program Positions:
PLAY PARK INSTRUCTORS

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: Optimist Park
Job Description:
Individual has experience with youth and knowledge of a variety of activities and games for children 4-8 years in an outdoor setting four days a week. Responsible for supervising, instructing and assisting with various art projects and active games. A confident leader and role model for the participants in the program. Possess a positive loud voice to give verbal direction to participants. Able to take direction from the Play Park Coordinator and Program Supervisor. Handles daily paperwork and utilizes the philosophy, policies and procedures set forth by Dickinson Parks and Recreation. This position requires extensive contact with youth and peers as well as adults. Availability must be during the duration of May-July 2020.

T-BALL COORDINATORS

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: North Softball Complex
Job Description:
Individuals will supervise and coordinate t-ball activity at the assigned complex. Other responsibilities include utilizing the philosophy, policies, and procedures as set forth by the Dickinson Parks and Recreation. Individuals must have knowledge of the fundamentals, rules, and skills of baseball. Season runs June – July; Monday & Wednesday.

T-BALL INSTRUCTORS

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: North Softball Complex
Job Description:
Individuals will be assigned to instruct youth participants in sportsmanship along with the fundamentals, rules, and skills of baseball. Individuals must also have the ability to communicate well with supervisors, youth, and parents as well as the capability to have extensive contact and interaction with youth as well as adults. Season runs June – July; Monday & Wednesday.

TENNIS COORDINATOR

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: DHS Tennis Courts
Job Description:
Individual will supervise and coordinate tennis activities at the assigned complex. Other responsibilities will include observing, evaluating, and assisting coaching staff. Individuals must have knowledge of the fundamentals, rules, and skills of tennis. Season runs June – July; Monday – Thursday.

TENNIS INSTRUCTORS

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: DHS Tennis Courts
Job Description:
Individuals will be assigned to instruct youth participants in sportsmanship along with the fundamentals, rules, and skills of tennis. Individuals must also have the ability to communicate well with supervisors, youth, and parents as well as the capability to have extensive contact and interaction with youth as well as adults. Season runs June – July; Monday – Wednesday.

Job Description:

Individual has experience with youth and a knowledge of a variety of art projects for children 4-8 years old. Responsible for supervising, instructing and assisting with various art projects. SAFETY CITY COORDINATOR

Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: West River Ice Center
Job Description:

Individual will be responsible for creating and leading a comprehensive safety education program designed for 4-6 year olds four days a week for two weeks. Individual has experience with youth and knowledge of a variety of activities, crafts and basic safety education. Responsible for developing themed weekly lesson plans implementing them and giving them interactive learning opportunities to learn about safety. Can give verbal clear directions to participants. Can be a confident leader and role model for the participants in the program and Safety City Instructors. This position requires extensive contact with youth and peers as well as adults. Handles daily paperwork and utilizes the philosophy, policies and procedures set forth by Dickinson Parks and Recreation. Availability must be during the duration of May-June 2020.

Location: Gress Softball Complex
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for reporting to each scheduled softball game, starting on time and display control of games.  Individuals will be responsible to find a substitute if unable to be at scheduled game.  Weekday evening hours required.  Season runs:  May – August.
