Dickinson Parks and Recreation offers young children the opportunity to interact with other children and explore hands on crafts.  Craft stations will be set-up for children to make seasonal themed crafts and increase their fine motor skills. Competitive league play in a recreational setting! Participation in this league is a great way to enjoy some outdoor interaction with your peers on a beautiful summer evening. Now with a new pole system to keep the nets tight. Dickinson Parks and Recreation offers a comprehensive, award winning safety education program sponsored in part by the Kiwanis Club.  Children will practice "real life" safety situations in a miniature "city".  Children will have fun learning about safety in the following areas:  Pedestrian and bicycle safety, railroad crossings, animal safety, electrical safety, school bus safety, stranger danger, seat belts, pool safety, farm safety as well as calling 911 and what to do in an emergency situation.  Special guests from the community will make appearances to demonstrate the safety topics addressed each day. T-Ball is an introductory program to the game of baseball at its most basic level.  Players will be introduced to the basic skills of throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases.  Participants will hit off the batting tee for entire program. REQUIREMENTS: Must be 5-6 years as of May 1, 2021. Baseball glove required. Registration deadline is June 16.

Participants will learn fundamentals of base running, catching and throwing without gloves, and proper batting stance/grip.  No glove required. REQUIREMENTS: Must be age 4 by May 1, 2021. Registration deadline is June 16.

In this introductory tennis program, participants will experience the basic fundamental skills associated with the game of tennis in a fun, non-competitive learning environment.  Racquets are provided if needed. Creativity is encouraged and a wide range of supplies are used to make their own masterpiece.  Sign up for all four sessions!  There will be unique goals and projects each week.  Students will gain essential skills to create projects using creative expression.  Supplies are included. Children will explore using a variety of materials to create an art piece of their own.  Demonstration and assistance of the summer themed craft will be introduced each week.  Participants will have the chance to increase their sensory and fine motor skills while getting messy. DATES:  Mondays, July 12 | July 19 | July 26 | Aug 2 TIME:  10:00-11:00 am REQUIREMENTS: Children must be accompanied by an adult or someone age 16+. Registration Deadline is Wednesday prior to each class.

Dickinson Parks and Recreation along with the Optimist Club gives children the opportunity to have a structured fun filled morning at the park. Weekly themes and activities are planned by the staff providing for fun times all summer long. Enjoy free time on the play equipment, crafts, songs, and games are all part of this supervised Play Park program. Children must bring a water bottle and snack. Tennis shoes and comfortable clothing adaptable for weather is required.  Must be age 4 by the session end date. DAY/TIME:  Each session runs Mon-Thu 9:30 am-12 pm SESSIONS: June 7 - 17 June 21 - July 1 July 6 - 15 July 19 - 29 REQUIREMENTS: Children must bring a water bottle and snack each day. Tennis shoes and comfortable clothing (adaptable to weather) are required. Must be age 4 by end of session date.
