MARKETING SPECIALIST

Job Title:   Marketing Specialist

Job Summary

Plans, develops and organizes the District’s marketing program including but not limited to ad design, newsletters, bi-annual program guide, special events, websites, social media, advertising sales and other marketing events and programs.

Essential Functions

  • Work with appropriate staff to develop marketing plans for parks and recreation programs, facilities and special events.
  • Layout and design parks and recreation publications and promotional materials, including parks and recreation brochures, newsletters and special publications for internal and external public.
  • Coordinate all public information and media relations.  Work with recreation and facility personnel to communicate upcoming programs/events.  Write press releases for print, broadcast and social media.
  • Manages the District’s social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Manage and maintain all website content.
  • Prepare and assist in delivering informative presentations about parks and recreation programs, facilities and special events.
  • Works with department supervisors to develop sponsorship packages and secures event/program sponsors.
  • Attend quarterly Park Board meetings and report on marketing functions as needed.
  • Develop continuing relationships with public entities.
  • Communicate effectively with proper subordinates and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, agencies and public.
  • Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

Required graduate of college with major coursework in marketing or related business administrative area, with a minimum of 5 years experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

PARK MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

Job Title:  Park Maintenance Specialist

Department:  Park Maintenance

Supervisor:  Park Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

Position will be responsible to assist in the maintenance/operations of parks and other grounds, specifically related to construction projects, mechanical repairs, irrigation installation/repair, and other general maintenance tasks.  The position will work out of the Park Maintenance Shop.

Essential Functions

  • Participates daily in activities related to the maintenance/operations of parks and facility grounds.
  • Performs turf and landscape maintenance functions including:  refuse pickup, seeding, sodding, fertilizing, mowing, trimming, aerating, irrigation installation, and irrigation repairs.
  • Assists in the maintenance of buildings and facilities in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions in accordance with park maintenance standards.
  • Assists in construction and renovation of park grounds, facilities, and equipment.
  • Operates a variety of park maintenance equipment such as: Mowers, tractors, trucks, shop equipment, trimmers and field groomers in a safe manner.
  • Assists in training and supervising seasonal maintenance staff.
  • Communicates effectively with proper subordinates and maintains positive working relationships with other employees, agencies, and the public.
  • Represents Dickinson Parks and Recreation in a positive manner.
  • Attends regular department meetings and performs related work as required.

Qualifications:

Required graduate of high school or GED equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years experience in repair and maintenance work, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Position requires a valid drivers license.

FACILITY CLEANING COORDINATOR
Type: Part-Time Year Round

Location:  Heart River Retreat

Job Description:  Individual will be responsible for the general cleanliness of the Heart River Retreat.  Morning hours are 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday through Sunday if needed depending on facilities reservations.  Individuals must be dependable and flexible with work schedules.  Must have attention to detail in making sure the facility is cleaned and ready for next reservation.

LIFEGUARDS
 Type: Part-Time/Seasonal
Location: West River Community Center
Job Description:
Individuals will be responsible for providing a safe environment at our pool facilities. Lifeguards will provide a positive image of the facility and its services by attentive, conscientious, and courteous behavior on the job. Other duties include watching swimmers through safe scanning practices, maintaining order in the pool areas, test and treat water accordingly, complete accident and rescue reports as necessary, perform CPR and first aid as needed as well as being trained to enforce safe operations of slides, ladders, and general pool use guidelines. Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.

WATER SLIDE ATTENDANTS
TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal
LOCATION: West River Community Center
AGE REQUIREMENT: 16+
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Individuals will be responsible for providing a safe environment for the pool patrons and promoting a positive image of the facility by being attentive, conscientious, and courteous on the job. Job duties include the enforcement of pool and facility rules, assisting in maintaining order in the pool and locker rooms, keeping the aquatics area clean, assisting in emergency action plans, and developing positive working relationships with other staff members. Year-round position; Monday – Sunday.
